Despite some bad weather the members of the Guernsey Military Vehicle Group had a great time at Guernsey's 2008 West Show (http://www.thewestshow.com/) held at L'Eree Old Aerodrome on Wednesday 13th & Thursday 14th August.
Although the first day was fairly quiet, by the second day (Thursday) the weather had improved and this brought more people to the show.
For the first time the group's vehicles were displayed outside the main arena field, and this possibly meant a few less visitors than we would of hoped for.
As well as the static display of member's vehicles there was a re-enactment of the capture of a German gun battery by US Airborne forces (inspired by a scene in the TV series "Band of Brothers"). This proved very popular with the public, most of who were unaware of the massive effort required to move and set up such a heavy piece of artillery.
