The Guernsey Military Vehicle Group has raised the record amount of £2,914 for the 2009 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Every year on the Saturday before Remembrance Sunday members of the group (with their vehicles) support the appeal by collecting outside various retail outlets on the island. Competition is keen to see which site collects the most, however the aim is always to raise as much money as possible for the cause.

Each year's collection has seen an increase in the public's generosity and this year was no exception.

Our thanks to everyone who donated.
