A number of Guernsey Military Vehicle Group members took part in The Royal British Legion (http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/) 90th Anniversary Remembrance Memorial Walk on Saturday 29th October 2011.

At 9:00am the group of walkers observed a minute's silence before setting out on the 20.5 mile trip around the island. To represent the 90 years that The Royal British Legion has supported service personnel, ten of the walkers were dressed in different uniforms and combat equipment (ranging from World War 1 to Afghanistan). The group also included members of Guernsey's Army Cadet and Combined Cadet forces.

After visiting and laying wreaths on the main war memorials in all ten of the island's parishes, the group arrived back in St Peter Port at 6:30pm.

The walk, which was organised by Guernsey Military Vehicle Group member Russell Doherty, raised £2,500.39 for the 2011 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Well done to all of those involved!
