On Saturday 15th September 2012 the Guernsey Military Vehicle Group transported a visiting group of retired Swiss Army officers around the Island.

In early 2012 Festung Guernsey (http://www.festungguernsey.supanet.com/) were approached by Association St-Maurice d'Etudes Militaires. A group of retired Swiss Army officers who study and maintain the Swiss fortifications. They were planning a tour of the defences of both Guernsey and Jersey.

An itinerary was arranged and agreed, and on 15th September 2012 the tour took place. As an added surprise members of the Guernsey Military Vehicle Group transported the visitors around the Island in wartime vehicles.

Starting with the German Occupation Museum the group then travelled to the Naval MP3 Observation Tower (http://www.festungguernsey.supanet.com/MP3.htm) at Pleinmont and then to Batterie Dollmann (http://www.festungguernsey.supanet.com/batterie_dollmann.htm) where Guernsey Armouries (http://www.cwgsy.net/community/guernseyarmouries/) fired the 22cm coastal artillery gun. This was followed by lunch at the Rockmount before visiting Fort Hommet and then the German Naval Signals H.Q. before returning to the airport.
